Sourav Mukherjee is a published Author, New Media Researcher and Visual Artist based in Kolkata, India. He finished his Master’s Degree from Jadavpur University in Film Studies (1st class) and his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) Kolkata (1st class) in Multimedia and Animation. He has also done his Senior Diploma in Painting from Shastriya Sangeet Kala Parishad and was awarded a Gold Medal.
Sourav has a decade-long industry experience and was associated with several big companies like The Hindustan Times, ABP, The Statesman, Linde Group, Rupa Publications, Patton, iLead, Rungta Industries, Indifolio Mumbai, TATA Group, UNESCO, MHRD of Govt. of India and others. He has received the 'Kalanand Award in 2016'. He was also awarded 'The Xavierian Artist 2014' by the former Honorable Governor of West Bengal, Sri Keshri Nath Tripathi.
His book ‘Sotoborshe Bharityo Animation’ was the first of its kind book written in the Bengali Language on the history of Indian Animation, published by Vigyan Prasar, a unit of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and launched by the former Vice President of India - Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu.
