Kolkata Knight Riders is more than a cricket franchise for its supporters. The team represents Kolkata’s pride, personality and collective passion. The challenge was to translate that emotional connection into campaign communication that could excite existing fans while extending the match-day atmosphere across media. While working with HT Media Ltd., I ideated and designed an integrated campaign series for Kolkata Knight Riders in association with Hindustan Times and Fever FM Kolkata.
The visual language drew from KKR’s established identity. Player imagery, signature purple and gold, bold typography and dramatic compositions created movement, anticipation and competitive energy. Each creative responded to a different campaign moment, from match-day excitement and player-focused communication to promotional and celebratory content. The campaign was developed across radio, print and digital media. Radio helped create immediacy and fan engagement, newspaper advertisements delivered high-impact visibility, and digital creatives allowed the communication to respond quickly to the changing rhythm of the tournament.
Although the individual executions addressed different moments, they retained a consistent visual intensity and recognisable team character. Together, they turned audiences from passive viewers into participants in a larger sporting and cultural event. The campaign series engaged more than one million people across Bengal, strengthening the connection between KKR, Hindustan Times, Fever FM Kolkata and the team’s regional fan base.
